LOOGOOTEE, Ind.
Bertha M. Williams McGee, 82, died at 3 p.m. EST Saturday at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes. She was a cafeteria worker for Loogootee public schools. She was a member of United Methodist Church, the Methodist Women's Quilting Group, the former Hindostan Homemakers Club, and had been active in Cub Scouting. She was a charter member of Deborah Rebekah Lodge and Mount Moriah Rebekah Lodge in Shoals. Surviving are four daughters, Doris Gingerich of Courtland, Ohio, Naomi Gingerich of New Concord, Ohio, Alma Fern Shappell of Geronimo, Okla., and Marcella Brewer of Marion, Ohio; a son, Neil Williams of Loogootee; three stepdaughters, Mildred Hamm of Bloomington, Hazel Peffley of Crawfordsville and Ruth Keys of Franklin, Tenn.; a stepson, Robert McGee of Linden; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and stepgrand and stepgreat-grandchildren. Her husband, Lawrence McGee, died in 1988. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. EST Wednesday at Loogootee United Methodist Church, with burial in Goodwill Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today and from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Titzer Funeral Home, where a Rebekah service will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Good Samaritan Hospital Kidney Dialysis Center.
