E. GRACE PRANGER, 89, a lifelong resident of Allen County, died early Thursday, March 30, 2006, at Heritage Park Nursing Home, where she had been a resident since 2002. She had been critically ill since February. Born Feb. 15, 1917, in Huntertown, she was a daughter of the late Ray and Mary (Parker) Wells. As a young girl she graduated from the Huntertown High School with the class of 1936. She was united in marriage to Harold M. Pranger on May 29, 1937. She was a member of St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church and the Rosary Society;, and a lifetime member of Huntertown Fire Department Auxiliary. Surviving are her daughters, Sharon (Ronald) Minton of Fort Wayne and Vivian L. Pranger of Los Angeles, Calif.; six grandchildren; and six great- grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harold on April 23, 1993; son, Walter "Butch" Pranger; and two sisters, Martha E. Peffley and Clara Downs. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church, 1502 East Wallen Road, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior to Mass. Father John Kuzmick officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, where Vigil service is 3:30 p.m. Monday. Burial in the church cemetery. Memorials to Cancer Services of Allen County. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
