Larry "Rudy" Rudisel, 56, 2801 S. Stone Road, died at 1:40 a.m. Thursday in Marion General Hospital. He was born in Terre Haute to the late Manford and Martha (Morris) Rudisel. He had been a resident of Marion since 1985. He married Phyllis (Young) Smithson on Feb. 10, 1996; she survives. He was employed at Anchor Glass, Winchester, for two years. He also previously worked at Foster Forbes from 1985 to 2000 and Midland Glass in Terre Haute. He was a member of the NHRA, was active in drag racing and was an avid NASCAR fan. He loved building and carpentry. Additional survivors include daughters, Kim (Aaron) Fritch, Van Buren, Lorrie (Troy) Hills and Jacqui (Todd) Warren, both of Terre Haute; siblings, Manford Dale (Donna) Rudisel, Nome, Alaska, and Phyllis Pefley, Greencastle; stepsons, Jason (Amber) Smithson and Nicholas Smithson, both of Marion; grandchildren, Matthew "Buddy" Rudisel, Brianna "Princess" Fritch, Drako Hills, Justin, Ashley and Dylan Fritch, Chase, Katelyn, Kody, Jayden and Shawn Smithson and Evan, Aaron and Ian Warren. Services are at 1 p.m. Monday in Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., with the Rev. Greg Sweat officiating. Burial is in Gardens of Memory cemetery, Huntington County. Visitation is from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
