Zella Belle Snyder, 94, of 245 N. Bellevue Ave. died Dec. 1, 1998, at Park Manor Rehabilitation Center following a brief illness.
Private burial will be in Phoenix (Ore.) Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Blue Mountain Television or a charity of the donor's choice.
Mrs. Snyder was born Nov. 11, 1904, in Eureka, Calif., to Frank A. and Martha E. Miller Pefley. Her parents became Seventh-day Adventists when she was 1½. She attended church school in Medford through eighth grade, and Sutherlin (Ore.) Academy, graduating in 1924 as valedictorian and class secretary. On Jan. 27, 1927, she married Ira M. Snyder in Manteca, Calif. She made house calls in the Modesto, Calif., area as a nurse for Dr. Byington. The Snyders moved to Medford in the early 1930s. they built and maintained a family farm for many years and raised their three children on the farm. A homemaker, she also made surveyor stakes for the county and sold milk and eggs. They moved to a home in Walla Walla in 1982, across the street from daughter Irita and family, Mr. Snyder died Feb. 7, 1983. She was a lifelong, active member of the Seventh-day Adventist church and member of the Walla Walla College Church. When deteriorating health prevented her from attending church, she enjoyed watching services on Blue Mountain TV. She enjoyed reading, camping and bird watching. Survivors include a sister, Lois Brooks of Gold Beach, Ore.; a son, Larry Snyder of Caldwell, Idaho; two daughters, Irita Entze of Walla Walla and Sharon Studebaker of Pendleton; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, including Dorothy Davey of Walla Walla. Her daughter, Virginia Ann, died in infancy on Oct 3, 1941; her sister, Vera May Pefley, died July 4, 1909.

Zella Belle Snyder, 94, formerly of Medford, died Tuesday (Dec. 1, 1998) at Park Manor Rehabilitation Center in Walla Walla, Wash. A private burial will be in the Phoenix Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
She was born Zella Belle Pefley on Nov. 11, 1904, in Eureka, Calif. She attended church school in Medford through the eighth grade and then went to Sutherlin Academy in Sutherlin to finish her education. She graduated in 1924 as valedictorian and class secretary.
On Jan. 27, 1927, in Manteca, Calif., she married Ira M. Snyder, who died Feb. 7, 1983.
Mrs. Snyder was a nurse and made house calls in the Modesto, Calif., area.
The Snyders moved to Medford in the early 1930s, where they built and maintained the family farm.
