Franklin Allen Pefley
Services for Frank A. Pefley, who passed away at his home, 1217 West 9th Street, Monday, will be held in Conger-Morris Chapel at 2:30 p.m. Thursday with the Elder O.E. Schnepper officiating. Interment will be in Phoenix Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ross Turman, Paul Pearce, John Wheeler, Clyde Melvin, J.G. Meehan and Frank Redden. Mr. Pefley was born in Winston, Daviess, Mo., on July 8, 1876. He was united in marriage to Martha Elvira Miller, who survives, on Oct. 17, 1896, in Independence, Montgomery, Kans. He came to the valley 50 years ago and entered the contracting business. He built many of the business buildings in Medford. He became a member of the Seventh Day Adventist church in 1906 and remained active in church work until his death. Surviving, besides his widow, are two daughters, Mrs. Ira Snyder, Medford, Jackson, OR; Mrs. H.R. Brooks, Prospect, OR; a sister, Mrs. Viola Armitage, Oklahoma City, OK, and four grandchildren.
Pefley-- Frank F. (A. for Allen, not F.) Pefley was born in Winston, Daviess, Mo., on July 8, 1876 and died on April 4, 1949. On Oct. 17, 1896 he was married to Martha Elvira Miller at Independence, Montgomery, Kans. Mr. Pefley came to the Medford valley 50 years ago and entered the contracting business. In 1906 he united with the Adventist church and soon became a very active missionary worker. A number of those in the Medford church were won largely through his labors. His work in giving treatments to those who were sick was also greatly appreciated. Surviving, besides his widow, are two daughters, Mrs. Ira Snyder, Medford, Jackson, OR; Mrs. H.R. Brooks, Prospects, OR (no "s" on Prospect), a sister, Mrs. Viola Armitage, Oklahoma City, OK; and four grandchildren.
