Services for Daniel Alexander Pefley, 77, of Commerce Manor, Brownwood, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Morelock Funeral Home with the Rev. Leon Aduddell officiating. Burial will be in Ebony Cemetery.
Mr. Pefley died at 8:45 p.m. Thursday at Brownwood Regional Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Born March 4, 1905 in Zion, Ill., he had lived in Brownwood for five and a half years after living in Arlington for 30 years. He married Lola Margarette (sic on spacing here) Thomas July 3, 1942 in Comanche. She died Jan. 3, 1977. A retired auto mechanic, he was a member of Coggin Avenue Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Violet Pefley of Zion, Ill.; a son, Virgil Ford of California; a niece and nephew, Peggy and Eugene Hawkins of Brownwood; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
