1517--DR. CLAUDE FONZO PEFLEY (son of No. 1516) married:
1--May 19th, 1896, MYRTLE L. SMITH, born Aug. 6th, 1872, died Oct. 29th, 1899 (dau. of JOHN W. and HARRIETT J. SMITH). John was born Jan. 1st, 1827, died Jan. 25th, 1901. Harriett was born Nov. 16th, 1833, died Sept. 1st, 1911. All buried in Harshbarger cemetery, near Ladoga. John W. Smith was in the Mexican War. Served in the 7th Reg. Ind. Mounted Riflemen. During the Civil War he served in Co. E, 7th Reg. Kansas Vol. Cavalry.
2--CARRIE E. SMITH (sister of Myrtle L.) Oct. 14th, 19--. Dr. Pefley was a Chiropractic Physician and practiced at Portland, Oregon for many years.
