OVA PEFLEY PASSES AWAY
Ova A. Pefley, 86, of Neodesha, Kansas, a former Fredonia resident, passed away in the St. Margaret's Mercy Hospital in Fredonia Tuesday morning. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday in the Cason – Knickerbocker Funeral Home. Rev. Arlin Pefley of Chanute will officiate. Interment will be in the Fredonia Cemetery. He was born at Altamont, Kansas on April 6, 1883, the son of Robert and Mary Pefley. He was united in marriage to Grace Robbins at Fredonia on Nov. 28, 1912. She preceded him in death on October 18, 1957. He later married Edith Lewis at Independence on July 10, 1960. He was member of the First Christian Church of Fredonia and was a barber in Fredonia and Neodesha many years until his retirement six years ago. Survivors include his wife, Edith of Neodesha; a daughter Mrs. Earl (Imogene) McAdam of Fredonia; two brothers, Ottie of Barlesville, Okla., and Fred of Sparks, Nevada; one sister Mrs. Gladys Cordell of Coffeyville; two granddaughters and three great grandsons.
