LEBANON
Walter L. Peffley, 79, of Lebanon died Saturday in the Masonic Home, Elizabethtown. He was retired from Conrail as a conductor and also retired from the state Treasury Department. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Mount Lebanon Lodge 226 F&AM, Harrisburg Consistory, Perseverance Fire Company and United Transportation Union and was a former constable and 3rd Ward Democratic Committeeman. Surviving are his wife, Mary Koch Peffley; a daughter, Judith A. Long of Lebanon; four sons, Walter L. Jr. of Harrisburg, Thomas R. of Lancaster, Gerald L. of Lebanon and Joseph A. of Jonestown; two sisters, Anna Blouch of Elizabethtown and Josephine White of Heilmandale; nine grandchildren; six great - grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Rohland Funeral Home. Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery. Viewing will be from 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at the funeral home, where Masonic services will be held at 7 p.m. by Mount Gretna Lodge 226, F&AM.

Walter L. Peffley, 79, of Lebanon, died Saturday at the Masonic Home of Elizabethtown after an illness. He was the husband of Mary Koch Peffley. Peffley was a retired conductor with 30 years of service with the former Cornwall Railroad. He later worked for 14 years in the state Treasurer's department. A former constable, he was a Democratic committeeman for the Third Ward in Lebanon. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Lebanon, the Harrisburg Consistory, United Transportation Union, Perserverance Fire Company of Lebanon and Mount Lebanon Lodge 226, Free and Accepted Masons of Lebanon. Born in Lebanon, he was a son of the late Oscar K. and Mary Jane Hoaster Peffley. Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Judith A. Long of Lebanon; four sons, Walter L. Jr. of Harrisburg, Thomas R. of Lancaster, Gerald L. of Lebanon and Joseph A. of Jonestown; nine grandchildren; six great - grandchildren; and two sisters, Anna Blouch of Elizabethtown and Josephine White of Heilmandale.
