Byron Irvin Peffly, 62, of Arroyo Grande died Sunday, Dec. 28, 1997, at his residence.
A memorial service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Friday at Marshall-Spoo Sunset Funeral Chapel in Grover Beach. Mr. Peffly was born Aug. 25, 1935, in Ashland, Ore., and had lived in Arroyo Grande since 1965. He was a retired driver for the United Parcel Services with over 30 years of service. He had been involved with the Roller Hockey program at the SOCAHL Rink in Santa Maria with sons Andrew and Brian. He was a great husband and wonderful father and he enjoyed his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Peffly of Arroyo Grand; 12 children, Brian Peffly, Andrew Ward, Terri (or “l”) Ward, Jason Ward, Darren Ward, all of Arroyo Grande, Allison Tanner and husband Chad of Nipomo and Mark Ward and his wife Lisa of Chattanooga, Tenn., Michael Ward and wife Pat of Burlington, Vt., Gary Peffly, Byron Peffly, Steven Peffly and Diane Wrobel; 16 grandchildren; a sister, Donna of Oregon; and a stepmother, Elva Peffly of Oregon. Memorials may be in the form of donations to the family or to a charity of choice. Arrangements are by Marshall-Spoo Sunset Funeral Chapel in Grover Beach.
