Robert Dennis Peffley, 61, of Lynchburg, died Saturday, March 23, 1996 in Charlottesville. He was the husband of Harriet L. Peffley. Born April 10, 1934, in Reading, Pa., he was a son of the late Robert D. and Mary Margaret Dennis Peffley. He was retired from the U. S. Air Force and an ROTC instructor from Lynchburg public schools. He was also a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Susan D. Hertz of Raleigh, N. C., and Linda Peffley - Firer of Charlottesville, Va.; three sons, Christopher E. Peffley of Montville, N. J., Lt. James D. Peffley, USN of Jacksonville, Fla., and Neill P. McDuffie of Richmond, Va.; and two grandchildren, Elizabeth Rose Firer and Mary - Margaret Ann Hertz. A Memorial Liturgy of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11:00a.m. Tuesday, March 26, 1996 from St.Thomas More Catholic Church, with the Rev. Kevin J. O'Brien officiating. Following the service, the family will receive friends at the church. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association. Whitten Timberlake Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
