Margaret Jane Peffley, dear sweet great-aunt of Jane Brittain, left her earthly vessel and received her angel wings at 2:02 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2006, in St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis. Aunt Margaret passed into the arms of our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ, peacefully surrounded by her beloved great-niece Jane and great-great-niece Candee Anderson.
Aunt Margaret married Uncle Rocky "Roscoe" Peffley, on Aug. 9, 1939, and he preceded her in death on June 15, 1989. Although Aunt Margaret had no biological children, she was a mother to hundreds of children during her years as a school crossing guard at Clay Street and Alhambra Avenue.
Surviving are a great-niece, Mrs. George (Jane) Brittain of Kokomo; great-great-niece, Mrs. Ron (Candee) Anderson of Kokomo; great-great-nephews, Todd (Shari) Brittain and Blair (Elise) Brittain; great-great-great-nieces and nephews, Katee and Allyson Anderson and Logan and Dylan Brittain; a niece, Betty O'Hara; nephews Jerry (Kay) Bartley, Ben (Charlette) Bartley and Tom (Pam) Bartley; and several other nieces and nephews.
Earth hath no sorrow that Heaven cannot heal. No services or visitation is planned. Goodwin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you love one another, forgive each other and always do what is good and pleasing in the eyes of God.
