Funeral services for John L. Peffley, 68, of 4074 S. Pacific Highway, who died Monday, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Perl Funeral Home. The Rev. Fred Evans of the First Christian Church, and Carl Oestreich of the Medford Masonic Lodge will officiate. Committal services and interment will be in Wenatchee Cemetery in Wenatchee, Wash. Mr. Peffley was born on July 15, 1989, in Wilbur, Wash. For the past 20 years he had made his home in the Rogue Valley. For several years, he was employed as a border inspector by the California Inspection Service. He was a member of the First Christian Church, the Sidney Croft Masonic Lodge of Brookings, and the Eastern Star of Brookings, the Medford Scottish Rite and a former member of the Central Point Nevita Chapter of Eastern Star. On Aug. 2_, 1925, in Wenatchee, Wash., he was married to Beulah O. Young, who survives. Additional survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Georgia Steinbach, Mrs. Helen Pygott, both of Wenatchee, and two brothers, Glen Peffley, Wenatchee and Earl Peffley, Sams Valley. Friends who wish many contribute to the Shrine Crippled Childrens (sic) Hospital in Portland, or the First Christian Church Building Fund, Medford.
