Glen E. Peffley, 91, a longtime Wenatchee Valley resident, died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 1998, at Central Washington Hospital and now joins his beloved wife, Irma, in heaven.

He was born on Jan. 3, 1907, to George and Lillian (Wainwright) Peffley at Walla Walla. At a young age, he moved with his family to Hanford where he completed his education. He then moved to Wenatchee where he attended business college.

On Sept. 15, 1942, he joined the U.S. Air Force. He received his honorable discharge on March 20, 1945, and returned to the Wenatchee Valley.

On Sept. 8, 1951, he married Irma M. Martinek at Wenatchee. For 19 years they lived at Wenatchee Heights, where they owned and operated a ranch until moving to East Wenatchee in 1970. Glen also spent many years working for Wells and Wade as a sheet metal worker.

Survivors include his sister, Helen Pygott, Wenatchee; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Irma, in 1988, two brothers and two sisters.

Arrangements are by Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.

Graveside services will be held at Evergreen Memorial Park Friday afternoon at 2:30. The casket will remain closed at all times. Arrangements are by Telford's Chapel of the Valley.
