Eaton graduate leads Tri-State against Urbana
ANGOLA, Ind.
Brad Peffly, a 1999 graduate of Eaton High School who's on academic and football scholarships at Tri-State University in Angola, Ind., will join his teammates at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in a game at Urbana University.

The Tri-State Thunder will try to win their second conference title and go to the playoffs at the end of November.

Peffly, an elementary education major, plans to be a football coach. He earned a spot on Tri-State's football team his freshman year as a wide receiver and punt returner. For three years, he also was the holder on place kicks.

Now a senior, he is the team's co-captain and was voted homecoming king.

He is the son of Vicki and Lynn Heck of Eaton, Ohio, and Rick and Cheryl Peffly, Farmersville, Ohio, and grandson of Bill and Julia Withrow of Eaton, Ohio.

Statistically, Peffley has scored four touchdowns and returned 16 punts for 117 yards with his longest 21 yards. He has 688 all-purpose yards for a 114.7 average per game.

"We definitely showed we had some character and we could dig deep and compete with anybody," Oliver said. Bethuram completed 17-of-29 passes for 153 yards and guided Tri-State to a pair of touchdowns. Oliver completed 10-of-20 passes for 92 yards. Oliver's second touchdown pass, a 15-yard connection with Brad Pefley, forced a 28-28 tie with 12:43 left in the game.
