Alfred Wallace Peffley, respected resident of this community, expired at his home here Sunday afternoon at 5:15 o'clock following an extended illness. Mr. Peffley was sixty two years of age and had been bedfast for several months. He had been in declining health for the past ten years. Mr. Peffley was born on the old Peffley farm three miles east of Ladoga March 25, 1863, the son of Thomas and Melvina Peffley. He was united in marriage to Anna Manges on Dec. 25, 1889. Mrs. Peffley preceded him in death on Jan. 28, 1912. The deceased was a member of the Methodist Church and the I. O. O. F. lodge and had been an active thresher man here for forty years prior to two years ago. He is survived by one son, Chester, of Ladoga; two daughters, Mrs. Walter Ronk and Ruth Peffley, at home: one sister, Mrs. Martin Miller of Ladoga, and four grandchildren. One brother Frank, died in 1879. Funeral services will be held at the home on Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock with interment at the Stoner Cemetery two miles east of Ladoga.
