Evelyn M. Orner, 86, of 130 E. Main St., Richland, died Thursday, November 2, 2006, in The Good Samaritan Hospital. She was the wife of the late Robert C. Orner. She was born October 13, 1920, in Schaefferstown to the late Frank and Susan Arzbaecher Noll. She was a retired employee of the H.H. Brown Shoe Factory in Richland. She was a member of the Millcreek Lutheran Church, Newmanstown; Neptune Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary and Richland American Legion, Post 880. She loved cooking, sewing, knitting, gardening, fishing and traveling. Mrs. Orner and her husband had a vacation cottage in northeast Maryland on the bay where they enjoyed over 30 years with their family and later in her life she enjoyed spending time with her great-grandsons. She is survived by a daughter, Charlotte L., wife of Wilbur E. Peffley Jr., Lebanon; granddaughter, Tin M., wife of Matthew "Doc" Clarkson, Lebanon; great-grandsons Grant M. and Luke D. Clarkson; sisters, Beatrice, wife of Herbert Frederickson, Myerstown, Marion, wife of Roy Barnhart, Hershey; sister-in-law, Dollie Belleman, Richland; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Herman Noll. Memorial service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. from the Millcreek Lutheran Church, North Sheridan Road, Newmanstown, PA 17073. Interment will be made in the Richland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to her church. Clauser Funeral Home Inc. is in charge of the arrangements.
