Wallace C. Hicks, Jr. 86, of 2760 Maytown Road, Longwood Manor, Maytown formerly of Annville and Palmyra died Wednesday November 1, 2006 in the Hershey Medical Center.
He was the husband of Bertha I. Fake Hicks with whom he celebrated their 66th Wedding Anniversary this past August.
Born in Lebanon on February 24, 1920, he was the son of the late Wallace C., Sr. and Arlene Fedder Hicks. He was a retired Pharmacy Tech LPN from the Lebanon VA Medical Center. He also had worked at Keystone Mills, Lebanon and part time for the Annville Police Department, Wengert's Dairy, and Hersheypark.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II; a member of Zion Evangelical Congregational Church, Annville, Life time member and Past Commander of the Annville American Legion Post 559, a member, fire fighter and ambulance driver for the Annville Union Hose Fire Co., Life time member of the Lebanon County Fireman's Association and the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery Memorial Council. He was also a volunteer at the Lebanon VA Medical Center.
Surviving in addition to his wife is a son Randall W. Hicks and Companion Ruth Chubb of Mechanicsburg and a daughter Judith A. wife of Clarence Hitz of Lebanon. A sister Nedra wife of James Troutman of Ohio and grandchildren Wanda wife of Robert Livering, Peggy wife of Arlen Zechman, Steven husband of Anita Hitz, and Clarence husband of Debra Hitz; seven great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson.
He was preceded in death by a brother Luther Hicks and two sisters Betty Jane Ulrich and June Peffley.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 12: 30 PM from the Kreamer Funeral Home, 618 E. Main St., Annville. Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery with Military Honors. Viewing will be held on Tuesday from 11: 30 AM until time of service at the funeral home.
