Frances Opal Peffly

CHETOPA - Frances Opal Peffly, 81, of Chetopa died on Monday, Jan. 14, 2008, at her home after a battle with cancer.

She was born Sept. 4, 1926, in Wakita, Okla., to Oscar and Neva (White) Hess.

She graduated from Manchester High School in Manchester, Okla., in 1945.

She married Elmer Dale Peffly on Sept. 3, 1947, in Anthony. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include three daughters, Bonnie Schnider of Orofino, Idaho, Carla Peffly of Chetopa and Catherine Ingram of Bartlesville, Okla.; two sons, Charles Peffly of Joplin and Frank Peffly of Chetopa; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a sister.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and a sister.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Derfelt Funeral Home in Baxter Springs. There will be a private service in Waldron.
